Rogue Wave Press Release

Rogue Wave Software to Share Best Practices for Bringing Java/C++ Together in High-Performance Environments at JavaOne 2006 Conference

Patrick Leonard to Present "Achieving Extreme Performance: In-Memory Shared Data between Java and C++" on Thursday, May 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p. m.

BOULDER, Colo., May 16, 2006 — Rogue Wave Software, a division of Quovadx, Inc. (Nasdaq:QVDX) providing reusable software components and services that facilitate enterprise-class application development, today announced that the Division's vice president of product development, Patrick Leonard, will be a featured speaker at the JavaOne 2006 conference taking place from May 16-19, 2006 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.

Leonard will speak on how companies can gain meaningful efficiencies and performance improvements by enabling Java and C++ applications to communicate natively through shared memory access (SMA) and a shared, standardized application program interface (API). The Service Data Object (SDO) specification will be examined as a means to access different data formats in a consistent manner within a service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment. Participants will also learn how this method, in conjunction with parallel processing, can be used to achieve speed, performance and throughput in business-critical applications.

"Many large enterprises are building new applications in Java, and are still reliant on existing applications and business logic written in C++ that cannot be easily replaced or rewritten," said Patrick Leonard, vice president of product development at Rogue Wave Software. "As a result, application developers have struggled for years with how to leverage this existing C++ code without the performance sacrifice and complexity involved in traditional approaches. This session will outline how developers can optimize communications between applications and shed light on simpler ways to work with disparate applications from multiple data sources within a services-oriented architecture, all in a high-performance environment."

Leonard's presentation will be held on Thursday, May 18th from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the presentation theater. The presentation is open to the media and all registered guests. To learn more about Rogue Wave Software, please visit booth #418 at JavaOne 2006 or visit www.roguewave.com.
