Rogue Wave Software Releases SourcePro C++ Edition 9

SourcePro® C++ Suite Adds Support for the Latest Operating Systems, Databases, and Compilers; Enhances Data Functionality

BOULDER, Colo., January 31, 2006 — Rogue Wave Software, a division of Quovadx, Inc. (Nasdaq: QVDX) providing reusable software components and services that facilitateenterprise-class application development, today announced the release of its SourcePro® C++ Edition 9. The latest edition of the SourcePro C++ Suite features additional functionality and support for the newest enterprise Linux operating system releases from Red Hat and SUSE, which underscores Rogue Wave Software's continued efforts to provide the software development community with most advanced toolset possible.

With the release of this latest version of SourcePro C++, users will now have "double" data type support, enabling input and output binding of long double type in all SourcePro Access Modules in SourcePro DB. Long double type is often used to process high precision mathematic or currency data found in many financial services applications, among others. The latest version of SourcePro DB also includes new callback functionality that allows users to customize database behavior via environment and connection handles. Users can now use alternate database login authentication like Kerberos authentication (tested with Oracle®, Sybase® and IBM DB2® databases). The latest version also includes support for large files (greater than two gigabyte in length) and IBM ICU 3.4 in SourcePro Core, support for Intel Math Kernel Libraries 8.0 in SourcePro® Analysis and support for OpenSSL 0.9.8 in SourcePro® Net. In addition, users will have access to the development code for the open source release of Rogue Wave® C++ Standard Library under Apache license, via the Apache stdcxx project (learn more at http://www.roguewave.com/products/sourcepro/).

Rogue Wave® SourcePro C++ Edition 9 offers a comprehensive set of C++ components that work seamlessly across any supported platform, including Windows, Linux and various UNIX operating systems. With SourcePro C++, companies can quickly build agile C++ applications that can be readily migrated from one platform to another as an organization's business and technology needs change. SourcePro C++ defines a high-level C++ application programming interface (API). Using this API, developers can write platform, compiler and database independent code. Additionally, this feature shields developers from many complex C++ problems and greatly improves developer productivity and the quality of code. SourcePro C++ Edition 9 can ease platform transition by allowing the developer to create code using a common set of APIs, regardless of the operating system or database.

The SourcePro C++ Suite Helps the Professional Developer to:

  • Reduce planning, development and testing workload
  • Accelerate project deployment
  • Minimize ongoing maintenance costs and resources
  • Facilitate transition between multiple platforms/databases

Additional operating system, compiler and database support added to the new SourcePro C++ include:

  • Redhat Advanced Server 3 update 6
  • Redhat Advanced Server 4 update 2
  • #USE Linux Enterprise Server 9 Service Pack 2
  • GNU GCC 3.4.4 on SolarisTM 10
  • Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005 on Windows® XP and Windows ServerTM 2003

  • PostgreSQL 8.0

"The addition of support for latest operating systems, compilers and databases, along with further functional enhancements to the SourcePro C++ Suite, underscore our ongoing commitment to support the needs of the professional developer, many of whom still look to C++ as their preferred programming language," said Shannon Lewis, senior product manager, Rogue Wave Software. "We look forward to continuing to support professional developers with tools that improve their productivity and efficiency, allowing them to concentrate on enhancing the business logic pivotal to building applications that ensure success for their organizations."
